In 2013 whilst in New York City at Sabbath Lunch at a family friend house, the discussion of homosexuality and homosexual came up. There were some youths, who were arguing the point animals in the wild practice homosexuality. Unfortunately, earlier today (5/1/2016) I met a fellow that brought the same point to me. And like I told the youths who were arguing the point, I told the unfortunate fellow; an animal can be thought to do almost anything. Unfortunately, I never really took the opportunity to research this argument so I can better handle such debated when they come up; however, today I did.
Most people, who know me well, will know that I take a hard line against homosexuality. This is not because I hate the people who claimed they are inclined to and choose to practice the same; because I don’t hate them. I believe that it is wrong because homosexual behaviors do not make practical or other sense to me; but most important, the bible, which I believe is the words of Yahweh: the awesome creator of the universe said so in that book.
Let me reassure readers here and now, I am not going to base this discussion on biblical principles or the bible, but I am going to examine the findings of the researcher who have concluded that Homosexuality is practice by at least five hundred animals in the wild.
It is no doubt that Homosexuality is an ever growing phenomenon and it is spreading faster than wild fire. It has significantly touched all religion, all social group and race that exist in the face of the earth. But I have grown to realize that not because a behavior or style is popular it does not make that thing correct and good for human.
Now I have read extract from one of the most prominent research on, animal homosexuality: The “Bagemihl's research. This concluded, that homosexual behavior has been documented in about 500 species as of 1999.” This is what most people especially members and supporters of the homosexual community are using as the foundation of their argument to justify their sexual perversion as being universal. But what they fail to quote is that fact that the researchers had clearly stated, in their research that homosexuality as something altogether different from sex.
So the Bagemihl's research shows that homosexual behavior, not necessarily sex, has been documented in about 500 species as of 1999. In short they ignored the phase makes all the difference in the world in the qualification of the practice among animals. What the researchers claim that there were behaviors of serious affection that was exhibited between animals of the same species and sex or gender in the wild, however they do not yet understand the reason for such behavior. Another valid point to make is: the said animals, are not engaged in sexual intercourse with members of their own species that are of the same sex.
There is no doubt that all animals react to love and affections in their own way the animals in the wild are no exception. There is no doubt that love is a common and needed desire among all living things including plants. (Which grows bigger, blooms brighter and bear more fruits when are treated with affection).
So let me take the time to explain what have been baffling the researcher for many years, like people, animals develops habits and customs to deal with their desire, the Lion live in community called prides and they live in special locations, where they hunt and raise their family. They play, they socialize and they have means by which they show affections even the males to the males. This is common with all animal, and these behaviors challenges the rational of most human.
So to say that these 500 species have exhibit homosexual tendencies but they do not have same sex intercourse with each other is foolish. This is like saying that all Arab men are homosexual even though they do not have sex with each other, because each time the men meet, they affectionately embrace each other and kiss each other on both cheeks. Or members of the Latino community are all homosexual for each time they meet their friends they embrace each other and kiss each other on one the cheek. It will be foolish for me to arrive to such conclusion about all Arab and the Spanish or the European are homosexual because they greet their friends, business acquaintances etc. with affectionate hugs and kisses.
In some cultures a kiss is a sign of friendship, while in others it is telling a person that I thrust, appreciate and respect you. In these culture these types of affections is expected and not to show such affection to another when they meet is a sign of bad blood or hostility in the relationship.
I will say that homosexuality is more than an idea but it is an act of sexual intercourse between two people of your same gender. A person is not homosexual until he engaged in sexual intercourse with a person of their same sex. How ignorant can these researchers be to suggest and to conclude that animals are homosexual because the show affection to member of their same species that are of the same gender.
So does the bull that smells the rear of a female partner is expected to ingest her fecal matter, takes in via his nose her urine? No it is just a ritual that indicated to that female that he is interesting in mating with her. These behaviors in animals are means of communicating with each other, in the absence of a spoken language.
We must also come to the difficult conclusion that humans are the only members of the animals Kingdom that participate in sexual intercourse for the fun or for the pleasure that is derive from sex. In the animal Kingdom, their sexual desires are all generated base on season. That is why there are predictable mating seasons for animals. This is so because the animals use sex as a means of procreation and not pleasure. In some cases sexual intercourse means the end of the life for the male. So he is not going to every indulged in sexual intercourse until nature tells him too.
So in conclusion, Human sexuality are not governed by nature, in the same manner animals do. Our sexuality is not dictated by nature but it is a craving that is self-controlled. We must also come to the simple realization that the urge or the desire to have sex in any of its forms can be controlled by the individual if they choose to. A man or a woman who refuse to or fails to take control of his sexual desires will lose control of the same. And he may end up in what the call sex addiction therapy, which is gear to help sexually perverted people retake control over their distorted sexual desires. There are some people who have taken it onto themselves to abstained from all aspects of sexual intercourse and have taken control over their sexual desires and urges.
Before I conclude: Animals do not participate in same sex intercourse but they show affections to other of their kind of the same sex or gender, this does not make them homosexuals in their behavior and it is the most foolish to so conclude. Nature do not, and will not support homosexuality. We must always remember that a person can teach an animal who to do anything, from jumping on one leg to having sex with its own kind and gender to having sexual intercourse with human. Nature which govern animal sexuality will never do that!
